Midwinter's Night

Midwinter's Night

I met a magical creature
Of a parallel universe
Glistening in the moonlight
On midwinter's night

The snow fell in sheets
Of the cleanest white cotton
Yet this beast was whiter
It shone a light of purity

I saw it leaning on a tree
An oak tree of magnificence
Yet it had deeper roots
Embedded in reality

The stars twinkled in the sky
So far away in infinity
But when I saw his eyes
I could see the universe

The cold was setting in
But my soul felt warm
And my heart melted
And I knew true love

I will love you always
And I'll remember you
Glistening in the moonlight
On midwinter's night
